	Soil and Water Conservation Soil and Water Conservation - Lack of access to suitable land for farming, slash and burn agriculture, dependency on foreign exports, and high use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers have had devastating results on the land in rural Guatemala. Many farmers have abandoned their land because of lack of fertility. Our farmer led workshops address these issues and cover topics such as erosion control, contour farming, composting, cover cropping, and crop rotation.
